After covering beef jerky last week, we just have to give you a beef jerky breakfast recipe you can be excited about. Now, this may not be the healthiest breakfast option there is, but we know this recipe would be something you’d be looking forward to preparing. Kids and adults love this so we hope you do too.
Beef Jerky adds some nice flavor to Mac and Cheese.
Things to Prepare:
Our Hot & Spicy beef jerky makes a great additional to a traditional homemade macaroni and cheese. This is a great recipe that everyone is sure to enjoy, bring it out during the holidays or just for a fun family meal!
What you will need:
- 1 bag Golden Valley Natural beef jerky – You may try our other flavors as well!
- ½ lbs Elbow Macaroni
- 3 cups Milk
- 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp Flour
- ½ cup Italian-style bread crumbs
- ½ tsp Salt
- 1 pinch Paprika
- ½ tsp dry Mustard (half teaspoon)
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees.
While the oven is preheating, boil the elbow macaroni as instructed in its packaging. Cook the macaroni according to your desired consistency. Most foodies want their pasta “al dente”. You may add a little salt to taste.
Chop your beef jerky into small bits. You can decide how big you want your jerky pieces to be. Some like to add bigger strips that they can chew on while eating.
Prepare the sauce by melting butter in a sauce pan. Add your milk and flour to the butter once it is melted and cook till it boils. Thicken the sauce by stirring while you add the cheeses to the mix.
Grease a casserole dish and put your baked macaroni on it. Mix the cheese sauce and add the beef jerky bits, taking care to not destroy the pasta while mixing all the ingredients in. To evenly mix the sauce, you can opt to mix in the cheese mix in layers.
Melt some more butter into a pan and add the bread crumbs to it. Add this on top of the mac and cheese mix you already made and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
Feeling a little adventurous? You can add other ingredients to the mix to make it more delicious. Chopped jalapenos can be good if you want extra spice. Chopped bacon, chicken strips and brocolli are good add ons too.
