Happy 2015, everyone!
It is now the perfect time to start anew and get the resolve to improve oneself. We at Golden Valley Natural are excited for the year and look forward to an increase in health awareness for 2015. To help you, our readers start the year right, we have gathered a few tips that can help you as you list down your resolutions for this year.
Acknowledge that you cannot reach any goal alone. One of the common mistakes made by many when creating their resolutions is creating goals that do not involve other people. This year, make sure you involve friends and colleagues in your goals. They can help you accomplish them and provide the necessary encouragement when you feel overwhelmed or discouraged. Seek out colleagues and mentors who can give you wisdom or advice during crucial times. By building a network of supporters you make yourself better-equipped to help yourself and survive troubled situations.
Aim to be realistic and positive throughout the year. When faced with a road block or a setback, take a moment to ask yourself where the problem really lies. Sometimes you can be your own worst enemy. Do not let your mind inflate potential problems and magnify obstacles out of a subconscious fear of failure. You should concentrate on the strict reality of your obstacles and not let your self-doubts make mountains out of molehills.
Try working in multiple positives. Do your best to keep a positive attitude while you work or work out. You’d be surprised at how much you can accomplish by either changing your surroundings or thinking about a task differently. Try working outside, or possibly thinking of your tasks as a game and try to win at them. Try listening to something that can increase your intelligence while you work out.
Read more this year. You’d be surprised at the abundance of great resources for overall personal development out there. Whether audio, print or in digital versions, seek out books that interest you and that increase your knowledge. The information contained in these sources will not only provide you with motivational quotes and tips, but also inspire you to take control of your situation and have you on your way to feeling more fulfilled and in tune with your emotions and behaviors.
List down your flaws and mistakes and create a plan to try to improve them or turn them into strengths. Positive change can come from examining your shortcomings and turning them into areas where you can learn and grow. People respect and trust someone who can admit when they’ve done wrong.
Forgive more this year. Try to be more accepting of other people’s mistakes and be fast in forgiving others of their misdeeds. By letting go of bad feelings, you will find yourself less stressed and happier. Your relationships with others will dramatically improve. Rather than allowing small habits to snowball into a major relationship-tester, try to reassess the offensive or undesirable behavior of those around you differently. Focus on the good in people and find ways to mend broken bonds.
Take 20 minutes every day to reflect on your life and how you are feeling about it. Do this alone to really gain a deeper understanding of who you are inside and out. Listen more. Do this not only with others but with yourself.
Banish the negative thoughts that are in your mind. Negative, doubtful and thoughts that limit your self development have no place in your mind. They will make it nearly impossible for you to reach the peace and harmony that will bring you the happiness that you seek to be in your life. remember that your mind is like a stage, choose the right characters and you will have a happy mindset that can help you accomplish anything.
Improve the use of time. Come up with a personal definition of what time means to you. It sounds weird at first to consciously think about time, yet this is one of the most important factors of personal development. You need to figure out how you value time so that you understand how to spend it. Some people measure time down to the second, trying to put as much effort into each minute as possible, while others have a more relaxed definition. Figure out how you want to manage your time.
Start to define your personal brand. When looking to better yourself through personal development, a great tip is to build yourself into a great brand. What do you stand for, what are your aspirations? What things in your life do you hold most dearly? What values do you consider unbreakable? The answers to these questions will help you know yourself more and will provide a guide for you on how to better yourself for the year.
Be more healthy! From exercising, to eating right, make a list of things you want to improve on. Be sure you pace any change in your daily habits appropriately. Abrupt changes in one’s diet or exercise habits tend to fail in the long term. Set realistic goals that you know you can achieve. As an example, try to eat healthier this year by consuming more natural products like organic beef jerky. Start using the stairs instead of the elevator at work. By slowly changing your fitness activities, you can ensure a more successful transition into a healthy lifestyle.
Relax. Do not overlook learning how to relax as part of personal development. It is easy to get caught up with the multitude of responsibilities and demands that you face everyday. When you learn to relax you give yourself the chance to re-energize and regroup for new challenges. If you do not learn to relax you will only burn out yourself quickly, thus reducing your productivity.
We wish you the best for this year and do look forward to seeing everybody reach their goals. Do comment on any other tips you may have in how we can improve ourselves this year.
