These rolls are sure to delight your taste buds and the best thing about them is you can customize them any way you’d like. What is better than that?! You could certainly consider these as a fusion food but these days all the best foods are. If you’re going to eat it then it has to be worth the calories and rest assured these rolls are worth the calories!
This is a quick and easy recipe that packs a punch of flavor!
Prep time: 20 minutes
Bake time: 40 minutes
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the Golden Valley Natural Sweet and Spicy Jerky in the blender or food processor for about 30 seconds. I used my Ninja and it worked like a charm. Set the jerky aside for now.
Step 2: Open the croissant rolls (or if you’re like me.. I make my daughter open them because they scare me when they pop!) and keep the dough together so that you can roll it out flat. The dough may come apart where it is slit for croissants but you can easily pinch it back together.
Step 3: Melt the butter and lightly paint it on the croissant dough and then spread the chopped jalapeños, cheese, minced garlic and shredded jerky across the dough.
Step 4: Carefully start to roll up the dough until you have it in a tight log. It certainly doesn’t have to look perfect so no need be overly cautious with the rolling. If the dough starts to tear just pinch it back together.
Step 5: Take your string and slide it under the dough until you are about an inch and half from the edge and bring the two sides of the string together and slice through the log.
Step 6: Place each roll on a cookie sheet about an inch apart. They won’t spread tremendously but they will grow.
Step 7: Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. When they are done baking I drizzled a little melted butter on each one to give it a little extra deliciousness!
Simply follow the steps above and you’re good to go!
