People today have a preconceived notion that snacking is not healthy, but this is not the case. Incorporate as many fruits in your snacks as possible. Don’t focus on getting satisfied only. Focus on eating healthy too when you are munching on that snack. Snacks that contain high fruits and vegetables content are less likely to contain a lot of calories. Even if there are calories, the equation is balanced by the vegetables and fruits in the same. Don’t just think of satisfying your craving but also on taking good care of your health. According to research done by USDA, snacking today is adding a lot of calories to the body more than nutrients and vitamins.
Eat snacks that are known to burn fat. Make sure that the snacking you are about to munch on is one that can burn fat and this can only be known by the amounts of nutrients on the snack. The ratio of nutrients to the calories should be equal, or the nutrients should be higher if possible. Eat snacks that have less than 200 calories with 10 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. Examples of these are an apple and skim milk, canned tuna on whole wheat crackers, Sunflower lentil spread with pita bread and others.
